Free to visit, the installation sees guests walk among 12,000 LED lights which have been programmed in choreography and feature abstract footage of Qatar’s landscapes. O Free. Until Tue Dec 20. Hop aboard the Lusail Tram While the revolutionary Doha Metro has already been open for three years, the Lusail Tram partially opened for the first time on January 1, 2022. At the time of writing, six stations are operational: Legtaifiya, Marina, Marina Promenade, Yacht Club, Esplanade, Lusail Central and Energy City South, with the rest due to open later this year. O Sat-Wed 6am-11pm; Thu 6am-midnight; Fri 2pm-midnight. Discover the newly restored Al Rakiyat Fort Restoration works at Al Rakiyat Fort were completed back in February. Located in north west Qatar, Al Rakiyat, which means ‘the well’ in Arabic, is one of the oldest and most important desert forts in the country, with origins between the 17th and 19th century. Every Friday, the adults-only spot features a different local or international DJ, with previous performances from artists including Lost Frequencies, Satori and Luca Garaboni. Grab an all-day breakfast at American diner and sports bar Public House Residents of The Pearl-Qatar were delighted by the opening of Public House back in March. Inspired by retro American diners, the eatery is a great spot for watching the game with your mates, either indoors in a cosy booth or on the terrace outside (although, maybe not right now). Our favourite part has to be the fact that Public House serves breakfast all-day everyday. Winner winner, pancakes for dinner. O Open daily 7am-2am. In April, Lusail Circuit Sports Club restarted its general training days for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. Al-Rayyan Park, Lebday and Airport Park, Old Airport Area. Enjoy the view from Lobito de Mar Chef Dani García, of BiBo fame, opened his second restaurant in Doha back in March. Lobito de Mar, located at the Marsa Malaz Kempinski, is all about Spanish seafood, and has a gorgeous view to boot. Finally here Shop ‘till you drop at Place Vendôme The much anticipated Place Vendôme Qatar opened its doors in mid-April. The massive mall is home to the first Urban Outfitters in the city, the largest M&S Food Hall in the Middle East, and a three-storey Sephora. Don’t miss the hourly fountain show.
