And that moment is nearly here, as the luxurious property is now set to open in November 2022. Set across a 66,000 square metre plot, The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort will have 59 rooms and 32 villas for guests to book. And even if you’re not looking for your next staycation destination, you’ll be able to dine and drink at Àve outlets, including a new beach club. Located at the northern end of Katara Cultural Village, the openings include all- day dining spot The Restaurant, The Lobby The Chedi Katara to open in November Lounge, The Cigar Lounge and The Beach Club. Guests will also be able to dine at Marsa Katara, which will now be part of The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort. We’ve got a feeling this spot will soon be making its way onto your ‘gram, as the luxurious hotel’s design was inspired by Mughal architecture. According to Beach Atlas, the Inland Sea is the 23rd best beach around the globe. The website notes, “With its unique position, Inland Sea beach has developed a rather astonishing ecosystem, combining both aspects of the desert dunes and sea front views. The shores of Inland Sea beach are rich with natural and cultural history.” Other beaches in the GCC that made their way onto the list include Kite Beach in Dubai, UAE, in 34th place, and Umluj Beach in Saudi Arabia, in 57th place. Swimming champs DOHA IS SET to play host to the FINA World Championships in February 2024, the world governing body for aquatic sports has announced. The city has previously hosted events including the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) and the FINA Swimming World Cup, but this is the Àrst time it will hold FINA’s Áagship event. The 21st FINA World Championships Doha 2024 was due to take place next year, but will instead take place between Friday February 2 and Sunday February 18. Lusail stadium The venue that will host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Ànal on December 18 is set to be inaugurated this month. From Tuesday November 15, daily Áights will operate between the two cities, departing from Hamad International Airport at 8am, arriving in the German city at 12.45pm. The return leg will depart from Düsseldorf at 3.25pm, arriving back in Doha at 11.20pm. Düsseldorf is the fourth destination in Germany served by Qatar Airways alongside Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich. Four members associations have expressed an interest in hosting the tournament, including Australia, Indonesia and South Korea.
